Forward Cargo Net: Why you should check on it

This happened to me on a recent flight. There was no cargo in the forward hold. Unknown to me, the loaders decided not to latch the poles up.

This is the end result. During the flight the pole swung and was lodged into the hinge. In the next destination, the loaders opened the cargo door. I was in the cockpit. 'SNAP'. The pole was bent. The motor was burnt.

Lesson learned.
